Best Roblox RPGs
Here are my picks for the best Roblox RPGs on the platform right now! I update this feature weekly with new RPGs that have skyrocketed in popularity in recent times or old favourites that are a staple for all RPG fans. Make sure to bookmark this page so you can check back every week!
RPGs of the Week
Recarna

Recarna is largely an open-world combat game, but with RPG elements that overlap. The world itself reminds me of medieval fantasy realms, which I always like to see in video games! On the side, complete quests for NPCs, which are mainly bounties that require you to go and defeat mobs.
Your main goal is to collect weapons and unlock spells depending on the type of combat you want to partake in. It’s a PvP game through and through though, so if you’d rather your RPGs to be PvE, this one may not be for you.
Legends of the Aether: Amnisica

Long-time Roblox RPG players will recognise this name in a heartbeat. While it does not have as many active players now as it had a few years ago, there’s no doubt that LOTA has a fanbase of dedicated individuals.
It’s a charming MMORPG on the platform, and Amnisica is the second instalment. Leviathan has been defeated, and the corruption has dissipated, but peace never lasts for long in this world. It’s time for the kingdoms to be at each other’s throats now…
Rise to Royalty

Starting off, most players have to select the ‘Peasant’ class, and work from the ground up to become royalty! Yes, the main aim of this game is to become one with the royal courts, or become a knight that protects them!
Peasants have to tend to the farm to earn money, and so forth. Citizens work around the kingdom in shops, collecting lumber, or farming. Priests and Knights are more prestigious, with the latter being a direct service to the royalty, and you must uphold the law. Priests help to keep morale high throughout the kingdom and visit the homes of citizens to check in on them.
RPGs You Need to Play
Nameless

This is just a demo at the moment, but wow… it’s probably one of the prettiest Roblox games I’ve ever seen. While Derelict reminds me of Elden Ring and Dark Souls, I think it’s safe to say Nameless takes the lead. From the glowing embers, to the dark halls leading up to the boss fight, this game is atmospheric in all ways possible.
Sound effects? Check. Cool music? Check. The combat feels fun, you can lock onto the boss, and there’s actually a sense of challenge rather than an overly simplified battle. While the demo only includes a singular boss fight, I can’t wait to see what the full release is like.
Lost Souls

You can probably guess from the name, but this game takes inspiration from Dark Souls! It isn’t as difficult as the latter, but it’s got an expansive world with tons of character progression. Obtain armor, wield freshly forged weapons, and wander across the planes to find both friends and foes.
It’s an RPG at its core, and while it’s not the most flashy, it’s perfect for those who want a relaxing game to play in their free time.
The Mythical Guardians

Mythical Guardians is an open-world fairy adventure. There’s a gacha system where you can roll for new outfits and avatars, though I actually really like the base one! Wander around a charming forest, filled with mushrooms, lanterns, and treehouses. There are mini-games to complete, which pit you against other players, and a range of quests that are all part of the overarching plot.
As for the plot, the world is being destroyed by natural disasters. So, it’s up to you and your sibling (you can choose which one you want to play as) to save the fairy kingdom! Become a Mythical Guardian and make tons of friends along the way.
Studlands

Studlands makes the most of Roblox studs and creates an entire game off of them. And it works! It’s got the charm, the quirky graphics, and excellent combat mechanics to keep you hooked from the get-go. Crafting gear is a key part of your time in Studlands, as you’ll be exploring a vast range of biomes.
It reminds me of the nostalgic feeling of playing Lego video games, just with a bit more of an RPG outlook rather than a linear pathway. It’s a good time all around and it’s only in Beta, which means it can only get better as time goes on! It’s simplistic as of right now, but there’s plenty of humour thrown in to keep it interesting.
The Crooked Moon/Medival Fantasy RPG Workshop

Okay, this one might be bare bones at the minute, but there’s a reason for that. It’s in a workshop state at the moment while the devs do their development thing. From the game’s screenshots, it looks like the game itself is going to be called The Crooked Moon.
There isn’t much to do in the game right now, but just wandering around the world is enough to get me hyped for the full release. This game does the medieval fantasy theme correctly, and it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for on Roblox.
There are different races to choose from, and factions, each with deep lore that makes for the perfect roleplaying experience. There’s also combat, and while it isn’t fleshed out yet, you can still get a hint of what’s to come.
Abyss World

Abyss World is a pleasant surprise. It genuinely feels different from other RPGs that I’ve played on Roblox. For starters, the jumping mechanic is oddly fun. To jump high and climb terrain, you need to hold down the spacebar. This can get tricky in more difficult-to-navigate areas but it’s a useful feature to have when trying to reach those higher spots.
It’s like an open-world jumping puzzle, and I think it’s a really unique take on the RPG genre. Trying to find the safest route that your character can jump across increases the stakes when the drop below is enough to deplete your HP to 0!
Globelore II

Finally, a Steampunk-themed game! Globlore II is set in a fantasy world where the Last Herald is eventually beaten by the military and the Hunter’s Guild. A Dragon Soulgem has awakened the powers of vampires, werewolves, and other ungodly creatures. They now roam Arctus in search of blood.
Explore the world of Globelore II as you try to save the realm from a dangerous new dawn. The world is huge, with a variety of weather conditions to keep you immersed. It’s probably one of the better Roblox games that I’ve seen that genuinely allows you to become your own character.
Modir’s Fate

A unique entry theme-wise, as Modir’s Fate is set in a world inspired by Norse and Finnish mythology. The Great Plague ruined the lives of many in Modir. Those who did not lose their life, now have to deal with creatures that thrive once the sun goes down.
However, the people of Modir have had enough. It’s time to band together to defeat the Plague and all the wrongs that come with it. But, just as they regain their confidence, it seems as if the Great Plague is about to strike again.
Hollow Abyss

This one reminds me so much of Arcane Lineage, which I know I say a lot, but stick with me. It’s tough, it’s gritty, and there’s a perma-death mechanic if you die too many times. Choose from 16 classes to master, or weave two together to create a unique playstyle for yourself.
In terms of how the game plays and who it’s for, I think those who enjoy Arcane Lineage and Deepwoken will get the most out of Hollow Abyss. While the game is nowhere near finished, I can tell a lot of work went into it to give it depth without being overly complicated!
Meciuvor

Meciuvor is a medieval RPG that sticks you right in the middle of a decaying world. The campfire is your only source of light as you wield 3 different weapons when first loading in. Use a shield alongside a Halberd as you fend off any oncoming attackers, and trust me, there will be plenty of those.
The point of the game is to explore the map and kill whoever, or whatever, gets in your way. The world of Meciuvor is dark and gritty, making it a challenging yet engaging RPG that takes place in a setting that feels both lonely and equally dangerous.
Dungeon Delver

An oldie but goldie! Made back in 2013, Dungeon Delver is one of the OG games on the platform that takes the dungeon crawler genre seriously. There are 85 skills to unlock and master, with a choice of 5 different classes to try out.
Every dungeon is generated at random, so you never know what to expect when embarking on a new crawl. Collect items in said dungeons, and battle it out in the level 50+ raids. Dare I say it, the style and isometric view remind me slightly of Runescape.
Depthless RPG

A true RPG grind! The lobby is a great way to level up initially, with plenty of quests to pick up. Getting to level 10 doesn’t take too long, and from there you can start to enter the themed portals via the Portal Room!
It’s a dungeon crawler, hence the word ‘depthless’ in the name. But, it’s got a vast amount of enemies and bosses to fight against. Some of the unlockable portals require you to be level 1K plus, so there are hours upon hours of gameplay at your fingertips. Progressing expands the world even more, with the environment getting better and better. Effective lighting and fun character-building really do make a difference.
Derelict

Aside from the horror games on Roblox, I think Derelict may be one of the best games I’ve played on the platform in general. It’s directly inspired by Dark Souls, with a hint of Elden Ring too. The voice acting is surprisingly good, the background music is atmospheric, and the core Soulslike mechanics are all there! If you like Soulslike games but want something new to play, Derelict is a great place to start.
Firstly, you have the Bonsai resting points that act like the Sites of Grace in Elden Ring and the bonfires in Dark Souls. The enemies are challenging, motivating you to keep your armor and weapons up to scratch. You have to forage, mine, and take part in smithing to improve a range of stats.
Plus, the world itself within Derelict is stunning. The ambient lighting, the dark shadows, the mist of the forest… I could go on for ages about this game. But instead of doing that, I’ll let you go and play it!
Voxlblade

A true fantasy RPG, and a quirky one at that. Firstly, you can pick your character’s race, from a human, orc, elf, or even a dragon (there are more options too!). While it’s Roblox and everything is usually… uh, blocky, Voxlblade cranks it up a notch. There’s even some humour thrown in too! It’s an all-around fun experience that presents a colourful world, lots of elemental weapons to craft, and a great soundtrack to boot.
Balanced Craftwars Overhaul

Probably one of the weirder RPGs I’ve played on Roblox, Balanced Craftwars introduces you to the game via a simple tutorial where you have to defeat 10 enemies and 1 boss. There are a few different classes to choose from when you first make it to the island. I went with Mage, but I was tempted by Ranger! Though I’m quite curious what the Gambler class is like.
While there’s PvP, you can avoid it by disabling it on the left of your screen. The main point of the game is to collect resources and craft new weapons. With greater weapons, you can take on the more difficult bosses. It sort of plays like an MMO, and when beating a boss fight plays the same sound from FF14 dungeons/raids/trials, it’s definitely an interesting experience!
Rogue Lineage

Rogue Lineage is a bit like Arcane Lineage and a bit like Deepwoken. If you enjoy either of those games, then this one’s worth a shot! It’s a notoriously difficult RPG on the platform, combining roguelike gameplay with fantasy.
The game has permadeath, meaning your character is deleted after you die once. It’s a whole load of trial and error as you try to get further each time with a new character. As it’s an open-world game, you can play with friends, but make sure you don’t accidentally sabotage anyone’s playthrough!
After the Flash: Wintertide

Set in 2164, the world is no longer as we know it. After a nuclear war broke out in 2071, all has changed. You’re a resident of Sunrise Island in Ohio, and you’re known as a ‘wastelander’.
It’s got excellent character creation, that really goes into depth with the roleplaying elements. There’s an overarching post-apocalyptic story too, making it a fully-fledged game that’s more than just attack, loot, and repeat. The ATF series of games is a popular franchise on the platform, with Wintertide being the most recent version!
The Vampire Legacies 2

Ever watched The Vampire Diaries? This Roblox title takes the show and turns it into a whole game! It’s in Beta at the moment, so new content is being added over time, including the most recent update that includes none other than Silas. You really get to become part of the franchise with this one, and I love it.
You can meet all the characters you expect to see as you play as a vampire yourself. My favourite part is walking around Mystic Falls, which I must say, is incredibly well made. The developers have put a lot of detail into making sure the buildings and outdoor areas look exactly like those in the show.
World // Zero

World Zero is an open-world RPG adventure where you can choose your own class (as long as you’re at the respective level) and then customise your character! Complete quests, blast through dungeons and explore 10 different maps. It mixes dungeon crawlers, MMOs, and JRPG elements to make a great free-to-play game!
Tackle fearsome bosses, defeat mobs, collect pets, and become the best adventurer around. Experiment with a variety of classes until you find the best one for you. But first, it’s time to increase your level! The combat is fun, and even the starter classes are entertaining (I picked Mage!).
Distant Isles

Okay, this one is a work in progress, but I want to highlight it anyway! It’s based on How to Train Your Dragon and it’s definitely nowhere near done. However, the base game right now looks stunning, with a Viking-inspired starter town. You can choose between playing as a human Viking or as a dragon, which I think is a pretty cool touch for an RPG!
The starting town is filled to the brim with wooden huts and various campsite requirements. There are different classes to choose from, each of which uses a range of elements. Plus, your character (Viking or dragon) is completely customisable when it comes to upgrades and builds!
Lee RPG

Lee RPG is another game that’s currently in development, but you can hop in to try it out! It combines fantasy RPGs with notable anime RPG elements, such as including Devil Fruits and a variety of fantasy-based weapons (all of which look pretty awesome with fancy glowing auras!)
It’s by no means an actual anime RPG title, but it certainly takes inspiration. You can equip multiple magic types, collect tons of weapons from chests, and obtain various traits to improve your character. These traits grant you super-strong buffs, so they’re a must! All in all, it’s a customisable RPG that allows you to experiment with different builds, giving you the chance to find the best playstyle for you.
Fabled Legacy

Fabled Legacy is one of the best-looking RPGs on Roblox. When starting, you get to choose between the Warrior class or the Mage class – I went with Mage! There are plenty more classes to unlock as you progress through. Plus, the armor you collect looks great, which is always a key motivator to play a game!
It’s a dungeon-crawler, with lots of different maps to explore as you make your way through mobs and bosses. However, the combat is similar to an MMO in its most simplest form. And by that, I mean that the enemies all have mechanics that involve AoE markers on the ground! It’s a common addition to most of these Roblox dungeon games, but I think Fabled Legacy is a great game to try out if you’re already a fan of this gameplay style.
Tales of Tanorio

Pokemon but on Roblox! It’s definitely its own thing, but you can’t help but see the similarities. Still, the Tanorios are all pretty unique, differing from the original Pokemon that we see in the series. It has voice acting, stunningly colourful environments, and adorable critters to collect.
New Tanorios are added with every update, and you’ve got a lovely story to play through along the way. It’s one of the better RPGs I’ve played on Roblox, and it’s a must for those who love Pokemon and want the nostalgia of the older games back.
Wings of Fire

Wings of Fire combines the original novels with fantasy gameplay, and I absolutely love it. There are two continents to explore in the game, named Pantala and Pyrrhia. There are multiple novels to experience, each of which has its own story and characters. And speaking of characters, they’re all dragons, even yourself!
If you’re a fan of the Wings of Fire book series, or you just like dragons, I highly recommend this fanmade game. Live as a variety of dragons as you play alongside other players, all the while enjoying a fantastical open-world adventure.
Vesteria

Vesteria is a cosy RPG on Roblox that takes you on an adventure through a variety of locations, including a charming forest! There are 4 starter classes to choose from: Adventurer, Mage, Warrior, and Hunter. Every class has a range of unlockable skills to use in combat, providing you with tons of character progression throughout.
With main quests and side quests to immerse yourself in, Vesteria is a must-try for all RPG fans. Plus, with it being on Roblox, it’s free! I do want to note that all classes apart from the Adventurer class do cost Robux, so keep that in mind. Join up with other players to loot dungeons and defeat enemies in the vast open world.
Prota Kingdom

Prota Kingdom is your standard RPG on the platform! I don’t mean that in a bad way though, it’s just a great example of what you’d expect from the genre on Roblox. Colourful in nature, with addictive combat, the Kingdom is yours to explore.
With various enemies to defeat, plenty of quests to pick up, and an actual map to open (unheard of in Roblox games these days!), you’ve got a bountiful and relaxing journey ahead. There are lots of armor pieces to collect and equip to Increase your strength and your style!
Creatures of Sonaria

In Creatures of Sonaria, you don’t play as your avatar! Instead, you’re a mythical hatchling that grows into a large and powerful creature. Soar through the skies or swim through the ocean, it all depends on which creature you want to be!
When you start the game, you can choose between a Sochuri, Kaluaka, and a Saukuryn. All of which excel in a certain field, whether it be healing, using fire, or being extremely agile. You can even customise your creature! Creatures of Sonaria takes the best bits of RPGs, but instead of being a brave warrior, you’re a fantastical beast.
Block Tales

Where do I start with Block Tales? I can’t quite describe how much I appreciate a game like this on the platform. I’m always blown away by Roblox games that push the boat out when it comes to the visuals. Block Tales doesn’t look like your average Roblox RPG. It’s an open-world, sort of side-scrolling adventure, featuring nostalgic graphics and animations.
As stated in the game’s description, it takes inspiration from Earthbound (a classic) and Paper Mario. It sometimes feels like you’re playing a game on an arcade machine, with turn-based battles, intuitive UI, and a variety of locations to explore. You can also play it with friends! It’s early in development, but it’s already one of my favourite games on Roblox.
Elemental Dungeons

A perfect dungeon crawler! The combat is fluid, the gear upgrades are rewarding, and it’s an all-around satisfying gaming experience. You can wield elemental powers alongside your weapons to slice through enemy mobs as you make your way to the boss.
Completing a dungeon rewards you with exclusive loot (including weapons and armor), giving you a significant stat upgrade as you head into the next dungeon. There are also quests to work through, providing you with gems, which then unlock more powers for you!
Arcane Odyssey

Arcane Odyssey is a historic RPG that takes you along on a journey to become a true warrior. With kingdoms at war, it’s up to you to wield your blade (or magic) as you build your own ‘kingdom’. Yep, you can build your own castles, claim islands, and take to the seas in search of mysterious artifacts! It’s an immersive RPG, that truly takes you to another world.
Dungeon Quest

Similarly to Elemental Dungeons, Dungeon Quest is an addictively fun dungeon crawler. The graphics look great, with immersive dungeons that feature lighting, shadows, and small details. Plus, the armor looks cool.
The game has a certain artistic style to it, with avatars and gear looking almost cartoon-like. It’s hard to explain without seeing it for yourself in-game, but I think it looks really effective! I’m also a big fan of the boss mechanics, with AoE attacks being displayed on the ground, forcing you to practice your timed dodges.
Arcane Lineage

Quite possibly one of the most in-depth RPGs I’ve seen on the platform, Arcane Lineage has been a favourite of mine since its release. For new players, it’s got tons of content to play through, with a wide range of classes to choose from.
The world within the game is immersive, with multiple subclasses to level, as well as plenty of rare loot to collect. There’s a true sense of progression as you explore the various environments with different terrains, weather conditions, and mobs. To top it all off, it’s a challenging game! The turn-based combat is engaging, and there’s even a higher difficulty mode to try out.
Deepwoken

If you’re into RPGs and you’re a fan of Roblox, you’ve probably seen this one floating around the Discover page. It’s a paid-for game, but it’s worth it. It’s a fully-fledged RPG that works perfectly on the platform, and it’s a must for those who like a game with dark vibes.
The world around you is being destroyed bit by bit, but you can save it. All you need to do is become the most powerful being around… and survive the creatures that hide in the shadows.
Swordburst 3

Yes, I’m putting a Sword Art Online-inspired RPG on this list. Personally, my time in Swordburst 3 is some of the most fun I’ve had on Roblox in recent times. I was instantly invested in the progression system, with easy-to-find quests and fair mobs.
Completing said quests unlocks brand-new areas to walk around, with a fresh set of mobs to defeat. The armor and weapons also look pretty cool, so it makes the typical RPG grind worth it! Plus, each floor in Swordburst 3 looks stunning, with gorgeous lighting, great enemy models, and charming mounts.
Shadovia

I really enjoy the Roblox games that look like they’re made out of Lego, which is probably why I like Shadovia so much. The open world is absolutely massive, and there’s genuinely so much to do within the game.
As you’d expect in an RPG, there’s a crafting system, deep dungeons to explore, and a bunch of quests to complete. The environments are charming with cosy buildings, trodden pathways, and expansive terrains. The combat never gets dull, especially when you wield upgraded weapons and abilities against bosses!
Pilgrammed

Pilgrammed is your typical RPG… in a good way! It’s one of the most well-known RPGs on the platform, with a fluctuating player base that keeps coming back for more. The world may look simplistic, but it’s hard to not get immersed in the misty, dark areas, such as the dingy caverns. You can craft new weapons and armor sets, including guns. Not only can you wield sharp swords, but you can run around with a pistol.
